NEW YORK — Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo departed Saturday's game at Wrigley Field due to mid-back tightness, and he was held out of Sunday's game because of it. Following the Cubs' off day on Monday, Rizzo appeared on ESPN 1000 on Tuesday morning for a radio interview about his injury.

"It's calmed down a lot," Rizzo said of his back issue. "I'm hoping today, when I go in, we work on it, dig on it and activate it."

Rizzo also said that, at the time of the interview, he was a "no-go" for the Cubs' Tuesday night contest at Citi Field against the New York Mets. However, Rizzo seemed hopeful that he would play at some point during the 3-game series.

"Hopefully, it kind of flushes out," Rizzo said while continuing to discuss his back ailment. "Usually, with stuff like this, it's a few days, and then, it's right back to normal."
