NASHVILLE, Tenn. — In recent weeks, Julianna Zobrist, the estranged wife of former star Chicago Cubs utility player
Ben Zobrist, has remained silent in the wake of
bombshell allegations being levied against her. However, she ended her silence by addressing the controversy via Instagram on Tuesday.
A lawsuit filed last month by Ben against Byron Yawn, a former business associate of his and the Zobrist family's former pastor, alleged that Julianna had an affair with Yawn and also accused Yawn of practicing shady business dealings. Ben and Julianna both filed for divorce in May 2019, which led to Ben taking a lengthy leave of absence from the Cubs, but the lawsuit states that Ben was not made aware of the affair until 2020. Naturally, Julianna was lambasted in the court of public opinion when the accusations regarding her supposed affair with the family pastor circulated, but she implied on Instagram that the accusations are false. Julianna posted a solemn picture of herself on Instagram and included a carefully worded caption, which explains why she has taken the high road and foreshadows an undisclosed date in the future when she will tell her side of the story.
