Luis Robert on injured list, recall infielder

CINCINNATI - Prior to tonight’s game at Cincinnati, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Luis Robert on the 10-day injured list with a right hip flexor strain and recalled infielder Danny Mendick from Class AAA Charlotte.

Mendick, 27, is hitting .375/.524/.375 (6-14) with five walks, two RBI and two runs scored in eight games this season, his third with the White Sox.

Robert, 23, was diagnosed with a grade 3 strain of his right hip flexor suffered while running to first base on Sunday vs. Cleveland. Robert is hitting .316/.359/.463 (30-95) with nine doubles, a triple, home run and eight RBI in 25 games this season, his second with the White Sox.
