The Bears moved up to the 155th overall pick in the fifth round with the Vikings to pick Tulsa edge rusher Trevis Gipson. The Bears traded away a fourth-round pick in 2021 to the Viking for the pick.
Gipson is a developmental selection but had 8 sacks and 15 tackles for loss last season.
"It's a really good value for the Bears. I like this pick," NFL analyst Matt Miller on Gipson.
He is an insurance policy and will provide added depth behind starters Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn.
NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein had the following take on Gipson.
"Gipson isn't NFL-ready yet, but he's a potential diamond in the rough as a long-limbed defensive end in odd or even fronts," Zierlein said.

The Trevis Gipson pick is a solid one. The Bears needed some developmental edge talent, and they got that. Gipson could become a nice rotational piece for this defense. #bears
