This is not great news.
Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant has been scratched from Thursday's lineup against the Milwaukee Brewers because of "left ring finger and left wrist soreness" due to Wednesday's sliding catch in the outfield.
After the play yesterday in the fifth inning, Bryant still was able to hit a 430-foot bomb before leaving the contest.
Bryant is hitting .196 with two homers and a .706 OPS in 12 games.
Ross: "Abundance of caution" with Bryant. Doesn't think the wrist/finger issue is serious.— Jordan Bastian (@MLBastian) August 13, 2020
