CINCINNATI — Javier Baez utilized one of his trademark "El Mago" slides to give the Chicago Cubs the lead on Tuesday. With two outs in the top of the fifth, Baez scored on a RBI base knock from Kyle Schwarber.

In the previous at-bat, Baez racked a double to the wall in center field off Cincinnati Reds reliever Cody Reed. Reed then gave up a single to left off the bat of Schwarber. Reds left fielder Aristides Aquino made a valiant effort on his throw home, but Baez slid in safely, putting the Cubs ahead 3-2 at Great American Ball Park. Baez also pulled off an equally impressive throw from shortstop to out a runner in the bottom of the fifth.
