ST. LOUIS — Continuing to perform at a high level late in the season, Chicago Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber, who has hit the ball well as of late, jacked a solo home run at Busch Stadium on Saturday. The dinger put the Cubs up 1-0 over the St. Louis Cardinals in the top of the first.

Schwarber's 38th long ball of the season, the go-ahead blast sailed 403 feet out to right field. Cardinals starter Adam Wainwright gave up the opening-inning homer on a curveball. The solo bomb left the bat at 107 miles per hour and 28 degrees.
