The Chicago Cubs have optioned left-handed pitcher Randy Rosario to Triple-I Iowa on Sunday according to multiple reports.

Rosario was impressive on Saturday against the Reds pitching two innings giving up no hits, walking one batter, and collecting two strikeouts. He will more than likely be back up shortly as one of the first bullpen options as needed by the big league club.

Down in the minors, he has posted no record and a 0.52 ERA (1 ER/17.1 IP) in 11 relief appearances with Iowa. He has walked just five batters, contributing to a 0.87 WHIP, and has limited opponents to a .167 average (10-for-60), including holding left-handed batters hitless in 15 at-bats.

In eight minor league seasons, the southpaw is 18-22 with a 3.24 ERA (133 ER/370.0 IP) in 118 outings, including 55 starts.
