Bears will not sign Larry Ogunjobi after all

Tough news for Bears fans today.

The Chicago Bears announced on Friday that they will not sign standout defensive lineman Larry Ogunjobi to a three-year deal worth $40.5 million because of a failed physical.

"This is difficult and it is emotional for everyone involved, but ultimately is what is in the best interest of protecting the Chicago Bears," GM Ryan Poles said in a statement.

Ogunjobi had seven sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and 16 quarterback hits last season.

In four years in Cincinnati, he had 14.5 sacks and 180 tackles.

The Bears will likely continue their search for another defensive tackle in free agency so they will have someone to plug the middle for the 2022 season.
