Logging In

I keep getting the login page over and over and it will not let me enter the interactive areas like the forum and chat.

The main cause of this problem is not having cookies enabled in your browser. By default, all web browsers should be set to automatically accept cookies. If you have changed this setting you will not be able to login into the interactive areas including forums, chat, and other members only areas. Here is a list of ways to verify your cookie settings for various browsers: http://www.google.com/cookies.html

Cookies can also be become corrupted. In Internet Explorer, choose TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > then click DELETE COOKIES. Exit out of that menu and re-open your Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, then try logging back in.

Microsoft Internet Explorer defaults to MEDIUM settings for your SECURITY and PRIVACY tabs within TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS. Some businesses and networks will put this setting on HIGH.  If your PRIVACY tab is set above MEDIUM, we will not be able to set the necessary cookie to allow you to login.

I never received my activation email.

If you try to log in without activating your new username you will get the following message: "Your account has not been activated yet. If you just registered, you should have received an email with instructions on how to activate your account."

The activation process is currently not automatic.  Each username has to be processed by a member of our team because of security concerns.  If you received the following email:  "Your registration is pending approval. You will receive another email once it has been approved." , then you have given us a correct email and you will receive the activation email no later than 24 hours later, but usually within the hour.

If you did not receive the previous email, that could mean you have given us an incorrect email and the activation email will not reach you.  Also, sometimes the activation email gets moved to a junk or spam folder by some email programs.

Once you get the email, just click the link inside the email to activate your username.

I forgot my username or password or I can not retrieve my password.

You can retrieve your password from the following link: /password_reminder.do. Your password will be emailed to the email address that is listed on your account.  If you no longer have access to that email address you will have to email webmaster@ChicagoSportsHQ.com.

Antivirus / spyware

Why did my Antivirus / spyware detector pop up a warning when I visited your site?

This is unfortunately very common these days. Any site with banner ads(all sites) have this problem including google and yahoo. If you are running a good anti-virus and spyware detector, you should have nothing to worry about. If you don't, we recommend Avast, which is free. Here are 2 articles that explain the problem in more detail:
