This is good news for Chicago Bears fans.

Defensive tackle Eddie Goldman was not given an injury designation for Friday's injury report and is expected to play for the first time this season on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Goldman was a full-go the last two days in practice which is a great sign for his improved health.

Previously, he missed the first three games of the season as he was dealing with a knee injury he suffered in practice.

Since he sat out last season with COVID-19 concerns, he hasn't played in an NFL game since December 2019.

"I give him credit for really getting to this point right now," said coach Matt Nagy to the media. "It's unlucky what happened early on there in that first week, but that's a part of life."

In other injury news, safety Tashaun Gipson Jr. is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
