Anthony Rizzo injury update |
Chicago Cubs first baseman
Anthony Rizzo has had some lower back tightness this week as he tries to prepare for the upcoming 2020 season.
Rizzo is still day-to-day according to Cubs manager David Ross. "I doubt he’ll do much today unless he comes in and feels really good," Ross said about Thursday night's scrimmage. This back issue is pretty normal for Rizzo as it tightens up a little occasionally during the last few seasons. Hopefully, his back feels fine soon and he can get back to preparing for the 2020 season. He has certainly put in the work this offseason losing 25 pounds and in the best shape of his professional career. In 2019, he hit .293 with 27 homers and 94 RBIs. David Ross doesn't anticipate Anthony Rizzo to do much today at summer camp. Cubs still taking things day to day with his lower back, but Rizzo said yesterday he is feeling better.
