Cubs players release statement on systemic racism

The Chicago Cubs released a statement on Froday from all their players concerning social justice, equality, and systemic racism.

"Today we come together as one, standing united with all of our black brothers and sisters in advocating for justice, equal opportunity and an end to the destructive force of systemic racism.

"For some of us it means listening and supporting. For others it means speaking and acting. For all it means insisting that systemic racism ends now."

The statement was signed by all the players in the following post on social media:

Per the Cubs release yesterday, the Cubs home opener will feature a moment of silence and solidarity in recognition of the Black Lives Matter movement which will be followed by a performance from teen gospel singer Keedron Bryant who will perform his original song “I Just Wanna Live” from a Wrigley Rooftop.
