The Chicago Cubs will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in Tokyo, Japan, to start the 2025 season, according to a report by USA Today's Bob Nightengale.

Nightengale said that the teams have been "privately informed" of the international opener.

The Cubs reportedly will play the opening series, then fly back to Arizona and begin their next slate of games on the West Coast.

The Dodgers and the Padres started off the 2024 season playing two games in Seoul, South Korea.
