The Chicago Cubs announced on Friday afternoon that infielders Esteban Quiroz and Jared Young have both cleared waivers and been outrighted to Iowa Cubs.

This means that they were taken off the 40-man roster which is now at 34 players.

The Cubs will likely try to sign both of these players to new minor-league deals as they are both solid depth pieces.
