Kyle Tucker injury update |
Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Jed Hoyer provided an update Tuesday on All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker’s injury status.
“The hope is that he progresses and we can get him in the lineup for a few games, get him some at-bats and get him going before the playoffs,” Hoyer told 670 The Score. “That’s the hope. He’s moving in the right direction.” With the postseason quickly approaching, Hoyer admitted time is running short. “Given where we are, we’re kind of under the gun,” he said. “There’s a finite number of days left to get him healthy and ready. If this were June, it would be a different conversation, a different dynamic.” Tucker has been a key piece for Chicago this season, hitting .270 with 22 home runs and 73 RBIs.
