Report: Cubs sign former Marlins pitcher

The Chicago Cubs have signed former Marlin right-handed pitcher Alex Sanabia to a minor league contract from the Mexican League and will head to Triple-A Iowa according to multiple reports.

In 2016, he was 5-1 with a 3.60 ERA playing for the Toros de Tijuana in the Mexican Baseball League.

For his MLB career, Sanabia is 8-10 with a 4.15 ERA with 86 strikeouts and a 1.442 WHIP.

He was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 32nd round of the 2006 MLB Draft.
