
Report: Cubs trade for Orioles reliever Andrew Kittredge |
The Chicago Cubs have traded shortstop prospect Wilfri de la Cruz (No. 17 Cubs prospect) for veteran right-handed reliever Andrew Kittredge from the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night.
Details of the return heading to Baltimore have not yet been disclosed. Kittredge, 34, has posted a 3.56 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP across 30 appearances this season. Last season, he pitched in a career-high 74 games with 37 holds and a save for the St. Louis Cardinals. He also made the All-Star team in 2021 with the Tampa Bay Rays. A reliable setup man, he owns a career 3.45 ERA over nine MLB seasons. He is earning $9 million this year and has a $9 million team option for 2026, which includes a $1 million buyout. The Orioles continue to move pieces and this time to the Cubs
