
Roster Moves: Cubs place Owen Caissie on concussion injured list, recall outfielder |
CHICAGO – The Chicago Cubs today placed outfielder Owen Caissie on the 7-day concussion injured list. In a corresponding move, the club recalled outfielder Kevin Alcántara from Triple-A Iowa. Alcántara, 23, has played in three games with the Cubs after making his season debut on September 2, tallying one hit and one walk in seven plate appearances. The right-handed hitting outfielder has played in 102 games with the I-Cubs this season, batting .266 (101-for-379) with 26 doubles, 17 home runs, 69 RBI, 10 stolen bases and an .818 OPS. He spent the whole season with Iowa prior to his stint with the Cubs from Sept. 1-13. Caissie, 23, has played in 12 games across two stints with Chicago this season, going 5-for-26 (.192) with one double, one home run and four RBI. The Cubs play the Tampa Bay Rays today at 1:20 p.m. CT at Wrigley Field in a game that can be seen on Marquee Sports Network and heard on 670 the Score and, in Spanish, on WRTO 1200 AM.
