CHICAGO — Early in his first season as the Chicago Cubs' starting second baseman, David Bote has already produced a stellar web gem. On Tuesday, with the Cubs taking on the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field, Bote made a tremendous cross-body throw for an out.

Brewers infielder Travis Shaw grounded in the 3-4 hole, and Bote, who was positioned in shallow right field, gloved the grounder and fired a perfect throw to first baseman Anthony Rizzo from right-center. The throw from the outfield grass reached the mitt of an outstretched Rizzo just in the nick of time for the putout.
