Chicago Cubs president Jed Hoyer recaps the team's moves at the trade deadline, highlighted by the acquisition of Willi Castro.

"It wasn't an unwillingness to part with prospects," Hoyer said on any blockbuster move. "It was sort of an unwillingness to go to that length we'd have to go, to the depth and volume that we'd have to go."

Hoyer didn't want to trade any big-time prospects for bullpen depth as the starter market was too expensive.

"Our biggest focus wasn't trading that prospect capital in the bullpen," Hoyer said. "If we were going to do that, it was in the rotation. That's what I would say."
