WATCH: Matt Mervis smacks his first homer at Wrigley Field

Chicago Cubs rookie first baseman Matt Mervis smacked a two-run opposite-field homer to put the Cubs up 4-0 in the second inning against the New York Mets on Tuesday night.

It was his second homer of the season that traveled 395 feet with an exit velocity of 102.5 MPH.

He also had an RBI single to right field in his next at-bat to put the Cubs up 5-1.
