A historic first for a Northsider.

Chicago Cubs rookie outfielder Nelson Velazquez crushed a solo homer to put the Cubs up 1-0 in the third inning against the Brew Crew.

The homer traveled an estimated 418 HAPPY feet with an exit velocity of 108.3 MPH.

It was his first career homer in the majors. Hopefully, there will be many more homers from the talented player.

Through 36 big league at-bats, he is batting .313.
