
Roster Moves: Cubs recall Jordan Wicks, option pitcher |
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Chicago Cubs today recalled left-handed pitcher Jordan Wicks from Triple-A Iowa. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Porter Hodge has been optioned to Triple-A.
Wicks, 26, has gone 3-4 with two saves and a 3.55 ERA (28 ER/71.0 IP) in 20 games with the I-Cubs in 2025, all but four of which were starts. He has allowed one-or-fewer earned runs in six of his last seven Triple-A outings since July 30, posting a 2.38 ERA (6 ER/22.2 IP) with a 0.93 WHIP during the span. In six appearances with the Cubs this season, Wicks has suffered one loss with an 8.71 ERA (10 ER/10.1 IP) and eight strikeouts. In his previous stint with the Cubs, he threw 2.0 innings, allowing one run, on August 26 and 27. Hodge, 24, is 2-2 with two saves (in five opportunities) and a 6.27 ERA (23 ER/33.0 IP) in 36 games with the Cubs this season. The Cubs play the Cincinnati Reds tonight at 5:40 p.m. CT at Great American Ball Park in a game that can be seen on Marquee Sports Network and heard on 670 the Score and, in Spanish, on WRTO 1200 AM.
