CHICAGO — Upon taking the field, right-hander Jake Arrieta received a standing ovation from fans at Wrigley Field on Saturday. The veteran pitcher, who previously starred for the Cubs from 2013-17, reacquainted himself to the North Siders after signing with the club in the offseason and pitched six solid innings in a Chicago victory.

The Cubs downed the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-1, and Arrieta received the winning decision. Kris Bryant and Jason Heyward both a hit solo bomb in the contest, and Javier Baez made a splash by stealing two bases in the same inning before providing the Cubs with their first run.
