Justin Fields injury update

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton  ·  Senior Editor ·

Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields has been ruled out of Sunday's road game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Fields has not been able to practice since he injured his thumb in the loss against the Minnesota Vikings on Oct. 15.

"We're happy with where he is," said coach Matt Eberflus Friday. "He's working with the trainers still this week, and we'll give a better update on Monday."

Rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent will make his second straight start for the Bears.

In his first pro start, he completed 21 out of 29 passes for 162 yards with a touchdown in the win against the Las Vegas Raiders.

In other injury news, veteran offensive lineman Nate Davis and young defensive back Terell Davsi were both ruled out with their respective injuries during Friday's injury report.
