KANSAS CITY – Prior to tonight’s series opener at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox recalled left-handed pitcher Bernardo Flores Jr. from the Schaumburg training facility and optioned right-hander Reynaldo López to Schaumburg.

Flores, 24, was with the White Sox to serve as the 29th man for a doubleheader on August 15 vs. St. Louis but did not pitch. He has gone 27-26 with a 3.18 ERA (153 ER/432.2 IP) and 342 strikeouts in 82 games (79 starts) over four seasons in the White Sox minor-league system after being selected in the seventh round of the 2016 draft out of USC.

Flores, who has no major-league experience, will wear uniform No. 67.

López, 26, is 0-2 with an 8.38 ERA (9 ER/9.2 IP) and 10 strikeouts over four starts with the White Sox in 2020.
