Dansby Swanson undergoes surgery

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton  ·  Senior Editor ·

The Chicago Cubs announced that veteran shortstop Dansby Swanson underwent successful core surgery in early October.

Dr. Bill Meyer did the procedure.

According to the Cubs, Swanson is not expected to miss any time because of the surgery.

In 2024, Swanson hit .242 with 16 homers and 66 RBIs.

The Cubs certainly need to ensure they have a quality backup, as Swanson and Nico Hoerner both had surgeries this offseason.
