Willson Contreras named NL Silver Slugger Award finalist

Chicago Cubs catcher Willson Contreras was named National League Silver Slugger Award finalist on Thursday morning.

The other finalists for the catcher position include Will Smith, J.T. Realmuto and Travis d' Arnaud.

Contreras is the first catcher in team history to have four 20-homer seasons.

The All-Star catcher led all NL catchers with a 132 wRC+, along with hitting .243 with 22 homers and 55 RBIs. He also had a career-high 128 OPS+ in 113 games.

He is set to be a free agent this offseason after 14 seasons in the Cubs organization.
