Tough news for a promising start to a career.

Chicago Cubs prospect James Triantos had surgery Tuesday to repair the meniscus in this right knee according to the Chicago Tribune.

The timeline for his recovery is six to eight weeks and he should be back before the All-Star break if everything goes well in his rehab.

The 20-year-old hit .272 with 19 doubles, six triples, 20 stolen bases and seven homers last season at Single-A Myrtle Beach.
