The Chicago Cubs have traded veteran slugger Garrett Cooper to the Boston Red Sox for cash considerations.

Cooper was DFA'ed this week to make room for 1B/3B Patrick Wisdom, who came off of the injured list.

Cooper posted on social media after hearing the news of the trade.

"Thanks to the Cubs and the city of Chicago for the great time," he posted on X. "Super excited to get rolling with the RedSox this week!"

He hit .270 with a homer and six RBIs in limited opportunities with the Cubs this season.
