ATLANTA, Ga. – The Chicago Cubs today recalled catcher Moisés Ballesteros from Triple-A Iowa. In a corresponding move, outfielder Kyle Tucker was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left calf strain (retroactive to September 6).

Ballesteros, 21, made his major league debut on May 13 and tallied his first career hit and RBI on May 16. He has appeared in six games with the Cubs and hit .222 (4-for-18) with one double and six RBI. He is batting .316 (141-for-446) with 29 doubles, one triple, 13 home runs, 76 RBI and a .385 OBP in 114 games with the I-Cubs this season. He leads Iowa hitters in average and ranks fourth in OPS (.858). Ahead of being recalled, he had reached base in each of his last eight games and in 18 of his last 19 since August 15.

Tucker, 28, was removed from the game on September 2 with left calf tightness. He is hitting .270 (132-for-489) with 25 doubles, four triples, 22 home runs, 73 RBI, a .381 OBP and an .854 OPS in 133 games with the Cubs this season.

The Cubs play the Atlanta Braves tonight at 6:15 p.m. CT at Truist Park in a game that can be seen on Marquee Sports Network and heard on 670 the Score and, in Spanish, on WRTO 1200 AM.
