MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Chicago Cubs today recalled right-handed pitcher Ethan Roberts from Triple-A Iowa. In a corresponding move, right-handed pitcher Porter Hodge has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a right shoulder impingement.

Roberts, 28, is 1-3 with a 2.74 ERA (7 ER/23.0 IP) and 34 strikeouts across 20 relief appearances with Iowa this year. His 13.30 strikeouts per 9.0 innings at Triple-A are the second-most among I-Cubs pitchers (min. 10 G). The right-hander owns a 1-0 record with a 5.40 ERA (5 ER/8.1 IP) and a 1.20 WHIP in nine outings, all out of the bullpen, with the Cubs this season. This will mark his third stint with the club in 2025.

Hodge, 24, is 2-1 with two saves and a 6.85 ERA (18 ER/23.2 IP) in 26 appearances with the Cubs this season. The righty was previously on the injured list from May 18-June 24 with a left oblique strain.

The Cubs play the Minnesota Twins tonight at 6:40 p.m. CT at Target Field in a game that can be seen on Marquee Sports Network and heard on 670 the Score and, in Spanish, on WRTO 1200 AM.
