DETROIT — Proving that the left wrist contusion he suffered via a hit by pitch on Wednesday was not too much of a hindrance, Chicago Cubs center fielder Kris Bryant skied his 10th home run of the year in the third inning of Friday's game at Comerica Park. While wearing a padded wrist protector, Bryant powered a two-run blast out to the opposite field, giving the Cubs a 2-0 lead.

The dinger off Detroit Tigers starter Tarik Skubal carried 358 feet to right, with Bryant going yard on a 95.2-mph four-seamer. Leaving the bat at 100.7 mph and 30 degrees, the opposite-field round-tripper plated catcher Willson Contreras, who singled in the previous at-bat. Bryant now boasts 24 RBIs and an MLB-leading 24 extra-base hits on the season.
