Kris Bryant hit the Cubs' first home run in 21 innings, and it also served as the Cubs' first hit of Tuesday's game.

CHICAGO — Snapping a 21-inning stretch in which the Chicago Cubs did not homer, Kris Bryant, who started at first base on the night, drilled a go-ahead solo shot out to center field on Tuesday. The dinger put the North Siders up 1-0 over the Cleveland Indians in the bottom of the fourth at Wrigley Field.

The 399-footer marked Bryant's 14th long ball of the year and increased his RBI total to 40. It also served as the Cubs' first hit of the game, with starter Eli Morgan throwing his first mistake pitch, a 91-mph four-seamer hurled over the heart of the plate. The dinger left the bat at 103 mph and 29 degrees.
