Another MLB managerial job linked to Cubs coach |
The Chicago Cubs coaching staff may have a much different feel in 2019.
Cubs bench coach Brandon Hyde has interviewed for two managerial gigs with the Texas Rangers and Minnesota Twins.
Now reportedly, a third team might get in the mix according to MLB insider Jon Morosi.
"Cubs bench coach Brandon Hyde is a candidate for the #BlueJays managerial position, a source told Morosi. "It is not clear if his formal interview occurred already, but his name has been part of the team's internal discussions."
Hyde did an in-person interview with the Rangers at Arlington last Thursday.
He has been with the Cubs since 2014 as a bench coach this past season and in 2014 with Rick Renteria and also a first base coach from 2015-2017.
Cubs bench coach Brandon Hyde is in line for an interview with the Toronto Blue Jays for the managers opening . Hyde has been contacted by the Angels and Twins for their vacant managers post . He has already interviewed with the Texas Rangers for the position.
