Bears waive six players

The Chicago Bears announced on Thursday that they have waived six players including running back Napoleon Maxwell, receivers Alex Wesley and Ahmad Wagner, offensive lineman Corey Levin, defensive lineman Lee Autry, and linebacker Keandre Jones.

None of the six players had appeared in a game for the Bears and four were signed this year as undrafted rookies with Wagner, Autry, Jones, and Maxwell. A few of these players might be picked up on the team's practice squad which is not expanded to 16 spots per team.

The Bears roster now sits at 74 and they have to reach the 53-man limit by Saturday afternoon (3 p.m. CDT).
