Brian Butterfield illness update

Tony Crumpton Tony Crumpton - Senior Editor -

Cubs third-base coach Brian Butterfield has been out recently with an undisclosed reason.

Cubs manager Joe Maddon told reporters during Sunday's pre-game that Butterfield's health issues have been related to some form of Vertigo.

Butterfield should be OK according to most reports, and the team believes he will return for the Cubs-Mariners series coming up.

Cubs coach Will Venables has taken his place during his absence, and Chris Denorfia has filled in for Venables at first base.

CubsHQ would like to give Butterfield our best wishes and hoping that he feels much better soon.
