The Arizona Diamondbacks announced on Thursday that they acquired infielder Ronny Simons from the Chicago Cubs to complete their trade deadline deal on Aug. 31 for reliever Andrew Chafin.

20-year-old Simon played the last two seasons in the Dominican Summer League.

In 2019, he hit .333 with 13 doubles, nine triples (T2 in the league), three homers, and OPS (.983), and 28 RBIs.

Chafin didn't do much in Chicago last season pitching in four games over three innings, allowing two hits and a run.

He is now a free agent.
