
Cubs select righty from Orioles in MLB Rule 5 Draft |
The Chicago Cubs have selected righty Gray Fenter from the Baltimore Orioles in the MLB Rule 5 Draft on Thursday afternoon.
In 2019, Fenter had an 8-2 record (22 games, 17 starts) with a sparkling 1.81 ERA in the South Atlantic League (Class-A). The 24-year-old had an impressive 123 strikeouts in 94 1/3 innings pitched (11.7 per 9 innings) and held batters to a .185 batting average. The Orioles selected him in the seventh round of the 2015 MLB draft out of Arkansas.
