The Chicago Cubs were down 11-2 in the ninth inning against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday afternoon so Joe Maddon tried to salvage his bullpen by bringing in veteran outfielder Jon Jay to pitch.

Jay impressively got the first two hitters out before a line drive single up the middle. He retired three of the four batters that he faced in the scoreless inning and he was clocked at 46-65 mph on his pitches.

Jay told reporters after the game that it was a cool moment in his career.

"I never thought I'd ever do that ever," Jay said. "When I look back when I'm done playing, it'll be a cool moment in my career."
