CINCINNATI – Prior to tonight’s game at Cincinnati, the Chicago White Sox reinstated left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel from the 10-day injured list and optioned right-hander Jonathan Stiever to the Schaumburg training facility.

Keuchel, 32, was placed on the injured list on September 10 (retroactive to September 7) with back spasms. He is 6-2 with a 2.19 ERA (13 ER/53.1 IP), 32 strikeouts and a .219 (44-201) opponents average over nine starts with the White Sox this season. Keuchel, who will start tonight’s game, has not allowed an earned run over his last two starts (10.1 IP).

Keuchel ranks among American League leaders in ERA (2nd), wins (T2nd) and opponents average (9th).

Stiever, 23, has gone 0-1 with a 9.95 ERA (7 ER/6.1 IP) and three strikeouts over two starts. He suffered the loss in last night’s game against the Reds and made his major-league debut on September 13 vs. Detroit. Stiever is one of 12 White Sox players to make their debut this season.
