Yu Darvish MRI update

Yu Darvish is done for the season.

The MRI and arthrogram showed a stress reaction on the tip of his right elbow and triceps strain.

According to Theo Epstein, he will be shut down for the next six weeks which means the end of the season for Darvish's tough first season with the Cubs that lasted only 40 innings.

"We do believe that the stress reaction is what has been bugging him all the way back to the end of May and looking back, is consistent with the symptoms and the pain he's been experiencing as he ramps up and tries to come back on two occasions now."

One bright spot is that the ligament is stable. The injury is similar to something that Cubs minor leaguer Alec Mills had last season.

Darvish is 1-3 with a 4.95 ERA this season.
