Anthony Rizzo on not getting an extension this offseason

Chicago Cubs unofficial captain Anthony Rizzo got a new puppy but not a new extension this offseason.

Rizzo was taking part in a Cubs community service project on Thursday and declined to comment on his extension talks or lack thereof, just wanting to keep it "in-house."

However, he did say the following.

"It would be naive of me not to (playing rest of career with Cubs). "It’s something I stated before, about wanting to be here. Obviously, that’s not in the plans right now, [but] that doesn’t mean it’s not gonna be."
