Cubs re-sign speedy outfielder

The Chicago Cubs have re-signed outfielder Ian Miller to a minor league deal on Wednesday.

Miller is a speedy outfielder that is a nice fit to stash away in Triple-A or use as an outfield depth option during the 2021 season.

When teams have trouble scoring, it's always good to have a guy that can help you manufacture runs, and he has elite speed.

He played well during spring training last season but didn't crack the Opening Day roster.

In 2019, he batted .176 with an RBI with the Twins.

In other roster news, the Cubs signed four other minor league deals with outfielder Rafael Ortega, catcher Taylor Gushue, pitcher Jerry Vasto, and pitcher Jake Jewell.
