CHICAGO — Giving the Chicago Cubs their first run of the postseason, center fielder Ian Happ smacked an opposite-field blast out to left in the bottom of the fifth for his first career playoff homer. The 360-foot shot barely cleared the wall at Wrigley Field, putting the Cubs up 1-0 in Game 1 of their Wild Card Series.

Miami Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara gave up the go-ahead blast on a 97-mph four-seamer, which was thrown on a 1-2 count. Batting from the left side of the plate, Happ went yard with two outs, giving him his second hit of Wednesday afternoon. The heavy wind at the Friendly Confines died down not long before Happ sent Alcantara's fastball into the seats.
