CHICAGO — Giving the Chicago Cubs their first run of the postseason, center fielder Ian Happ smacked an opposite-field blast out to left in the bottom of the fifth for his first career playoff homer. The 360-foot shot barely cleared the wall at Wrigley Field, putting the Cubs up 1-0 in Game 1 of their Wild Card Series.
Miami Marlins starter Sandy Alcantara gave up the go-ahead blast on a 97-mph four-seamer, which was thrown on a 1-2 count. Batting from the left side of the plate, Happ went yard with two outs, giving him his second hit of Wednesday afternoon.
