CHICAGO — Chicago Cubs left fielder Kyle Schwarber put the North Siders on top in their matchup with the South Siders on Friday. Schwarber smacked a second-inning solo shot at Guaranteed Rate Field, providing the Cubs with a 1-0 lead over the Chicago White Sox.

Schwarber lofted his 11th dinger of the year to the opposite field, with the 382-footer carrying out to left. White Sox starter Dylan Ceasse gave up the home run on a 99-mph fastball. Coming on a full count, the two-out blast in the top of the second increased Schwarber's RBI total to 24.
