Yu did it!

Chicago Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish was named National League Pitcher of the Month for his impressive recent showings.

Darvish had a perfect 5-0 record with a sparkling 1.09 ERA, 40 strikeouts, and only gave up seven walks in 33 innings pitched in August.

For the season, he has a solid 6-1 record (tied for most NL wins) with a low 1.47 ERA (tied for 2nd), 52 strikeouts (tied for 12th), and 1.00 WHIP.

He is certainly one of the frontrunners for the 2020 CY Young as he is worth 1.8 in pitching WAR (2nd highest) according to Fangraphs.

Since the All-Star break last season in 20 starts, he has an impressive 2.31 ERA with 170 strikeouts in 124 2/3 innings.

In the American League, Shane Bieber was the pitcher of the month.
