Braves take Cubs RHP in Rule 5 Draft

The Atlanta Braves used the fifth pick in the Rule 5 draft on to select Cubs Triple-A right-handed pitcher Armando Rivero on Thursday morning.

For his minor league career, 28-year old Rivero was impressive with a 2.70 ERA and 1.12 WHIP in 220 innings pitched in 114 career games at Triple-A Iowa.

The Cubs signed the talented prospect out of Cubs in 2013.
