Aroldis Chapman achieved a very rare feat with a three-pitch inning against the St. Louis Cardinals in the ninth inning of the 4-3 win on Thursday night. It was the first three-pitch inning of Chapman's career according to the Baseball Almanac.

"When you're in the minor leagues, you actually give a pitcher a steak dinner for a four-pitch inning," Joe Maddon said to reporters after the game. "He got it in three, so I have to make it a really good steak dinner."

Chapman did not know about the free steak dinner incentive.

"I went to him, and he had no idea what I was talking about," Maddon said.

The hard-throwing closer has a 1.85 ERA with 24 saves, 55 strikeouts, and a 0.77 WHIP this season.
